Rutland Teachers, Board Avert Strike

Sides reach tentative agreement after marathon talks; school is on today

RUTLAND, Vt. – After nearly eight hours of talks, teachers and the city’s school board reached a tentative agreement on contract terms, averting what would have been the first Vermont teachers’ strike in nearly a decade.

Details of the agreement have not been released. The agreement is pending ratification by the members of the Rutland Education Association and the city’s school board.
