Professional Learning Opportunities
Vermont-NEA holds many events throughout the year. Some events are annual events, while others are focused on specific topics of interest to the field of education. Vermont-NEA has a Professional Learning Committee, which includes both ESPs and Teachers, that help guide these offerings. ESP Conference 2024

This year's Vermont-NEA Education Support Professional's Conference will take place on Friday, April 5th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Burlington. The Keynote Speaker will be Afrika Afeni Mills, author of the book, "Open Windows, Open Minds: Developing Antiracist, Pro-Human Students.

Open Windows, Open Minds Workshop

Vermont-NEA is excited to host Afrika Afeni Mills for this one-day workshop on Thursday, April 4th at the Delta Hotel in South Burlington. Afrika Afeni Mills, is the author of Open Windows, Open Minds: Developing Antiracist, Pro-Human Students, as well as the viral blog post, A Letter to White Teachers of My Black Children.

Aspiring Ed/Early Career Conference

Vermont-NEA will be hosting an Aspiring Educator and Early Career (first 3 years of teaching) Conference at the Double Tree Conference Center on Friday, October 18, 2024. Please save the date! Check back for more information!

Vermont Educators of Color May 2024 Retreat

Hosted by the Vermont Educators of Color Association! A grassroots group working to build relationships and make change for educators of color in Vermont. While many of us are k-12 educators, we welcome educators in any setting from early education, to after school, to higher education, please join us to heal and connect! This retreat is only for self-identified educators of color!
