Vermont-NEA is excited to bring Carol-Ann Tomlinson to Vermont to explore how student-centered learning, differentiation and personalization all fits together. Participants will explore the three ideas and reflect on their classroom practices in order to strengthen student learning through student-focused instruction that blends together differentiation and personalization. Participants will leave with concrete ideas and resources to strengthen student-centered learning in the classroom. Finally, Tomlinson will share her cautions and thoughts about personalized learning and how personalization requires effective teaching first, technology second. This workshop is for aspiring, new and experienced educators. Additionally, National Board Candidates will find this conference helpful when planning for Component 2 of National Board Certification, "Differentiation in Instruction."
